Erytrosure is a macrolide antibiotic indicated for the treatment of infectious diseases due to erythromycin-sensitive bacteria and Mycoplasma in poultry. Erythromycin binds reversibly to the 50S subunit of ribosomes, resulting in the blockage of transpeptidation or translocation reactions, leading to impaired and/or inhibited protein synthesis and, hence, inhibits cell growth.
Treatment of Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in chickens caused by Mycoplasma organisms.
33g Erytrosure 50% / 64 litres of drinking water administered continuously for 1 to 5 days, depending on response (approximately 25.5 mg erythromycin / kg body weight per day).
