Thiamisol 200mg/ml

Thiamphenicol is a synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic that is effective against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria isolated from domestic animals. Thiamphenicol, a derivative of chloramphenicol, acts by inhibiting protein synthesis at the ribosomal level and is bacteriostatic. Thiamphenicol does not carry the risk of inducing human aplastic anaemia that is associated with the use of chloramphenicol, and also has activity against some chloramphenicol-resistant strains of bacteria.

Thiamisol 30% is indicated for the treatment of enteric and respiratory infections caused by E. coli and other thiamphenicol-sensitive bacteria, particularly of Colibacillary enteritis, respiratory Colibacillosis, Colisepticaemia and complications caused by other infectious diseases in chickens.

Prevention: Mix 500ml to approximately 500 to 1000 litres (110 to 220 gallons) of drinking water, for 3 days. Treatment: Mix 500ml to approximately 250 litres (55 gallons) of drinking water, for 3 days.
